Announcement of Training Program/Workshop for Management Institutes Nov-2010 to April-2011

GHRDC is pleased to announce its focused and customized programs for management institutes in India. These are need-based research programs aimed at supporting B-Schools in improving and enhancing their qualitative value and brand. The programs comprise modules for the management of the institutes, the faculty, as well as the students. Details of the program are given below:

1. Analysis of the Institutes: Last GHRDC B-School Survey 2010 data and advice/ suggestions on how to improve the position going forward.

We provide analysis of the Institutes indicating their present strengths and weakness on the basis of data provided in the last survey .This analysis looks at the holistic performance of the Institute and provides guidance to improve in areas which need improvement, thereby resulting in better rating and ranking in 2010. The presentation covers all areas of parameters used for measuring and evaluating the institutes for ranking (i.e. physical and academic infrastructure, financial structure, faculty and related issues research, consultancy, MDP etc, admission system, placement and networking). It also includes parameters where a particular institute is lagging behind, or where other institutes/competitors are scoring better.

2. Faculty Development Program

Based on our overall assessment during the surveys we observe that there is a definite need to improve the quality of faculty in our management institutes. During the last fifty years, new challenges have appeared and demands of the industry have consistently changed .Globally, B-Schools have given serious consideration on updating their faculty with the teaching techniques and content. Apart from the general gap between demand and availability of faculty, the quality of faculty has gone down because of lack of training. B- School teaching is entirely different from teaching subjects in other streams of education. While those who have joined may not be suitable, we cannot reject them .On the contrary, we need to train and retain them to meet the requirements and growing needs of a good faculty.
Keeping the above objectives in mind we have developed specially designed programs for faculties in India.
The program focuses on the latest development and challenges of management education in the 21st century, developing fresh perspective of teaching and learning process, teaching techniques and content, designing the courses, use of case study method of teaching, research based activities for students etc. It also aims at facilitating the prospective management gurus in identifying their roles and responsibilities, self-improvement and in fulfilling the goals of the institutes, etc..
The program is designed for two days and is for a batch of 20-25 faculties; however, some institutes can go for one day program as well according to their needs.
