1. Orientation Program

The Orientation Program has especially been designed for New Students joining an MBA program. The aim of this workshop is to familiarize students with the world of MBA Education and how they should approach the next two years of their course. A detailed guidance will also be given with regard to the career scope and opportunities for each MBA specialization apart from our other modules. The program will include: •Expectations and Anxieties as New Students in MBA •Best Practices during MBA •Exploring MBA specialization subjects- their career scope and opportunities •What corporate world expects from you

2. Students Development Program for 1st Year students

Students Development Program for 1st Year students is a program customized to facilitate articulation of hopes and fears of students pursuing Management Education. The Program is designed to enhance their understanding and reinforcing their confidence in a Management Program. The topics included are: •Hopes & fears •How to further enhance your MBA education •Summer Internship- A key to Corporate World •Body Language & Communication in the Workplace (role plays) •What Corporate world expects from the students ( In this we invite, guests from the corporate world to give an insight on the key areas related to corporate expectations)

3. Students Development Program for Final year students

This program is focused on preparing students for final placement through a workshop aimed at assessing their preparedness, providing recruiter’s perception and increasing their confidence level. The topics included are: •Expectations of the final year students •Concept and process of placement •Recruiter’s perception •Communications skills & body language •The art of resume writing •Email Writing Skills •Personal Mock interviews in a one day program / Formal individual interviews in two days program and their individual feedback on mock & formal interviews

4. Mini workshops

•The art of resume writing •Body Language &Communication in Workplace •What Corporate World Expects from the students •Workshop on mock GD & Personal Interviews- Tips •Email Etiquette & writing skills

XLRI Holds Finance Conclave
XLRI Jamshedpur played host to some of the biggest names in corporate India at its second edition of the annual Finance Conclave, Gnosis 2011 in Mumbai. Prof Uday Damondaran ,XLRI faculty finance said," With India looking to lurch forward into the next phase of growth ,large financial invastments as well as domain-specific management expertise becomes invevitable. It is here that alternative investments such as private equity funds become very important."

Get Ready For MAT
The All-India Management Association's Centre for management Services is the specialized division undertaking testing and other management services. The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is administered four times in an academic cycle. It is on the first Sunday of September,December,February and May. The next MAT paper is due on December 4,2011 and the computer-based test on December 10,2011.

New Format For CAT 2011

The test will be conducted between Oct 22 and Nov 18,2011.

1. Three section reduced to two

Though the number of question remains the same. CAT 2011 will have two section instead of three.The first will focus on quantitative ability and data interpretation and the second on verbal ability and logical reasoning.

2. No option of going back and forth

Once the time ends for the first section,they will move to the second and will no longer be able to go back.

3. Additional five mintus

An additional five minutes have been added to the existing two-and-half hours. .

4. 30 min reducetion in repoting time

Check-in time has been reduced by half-an-hour from the previous two hours. With this change,the afternoon session will start at 3:15pm.

5. Three new locations

Bhilai,Jammu and Dehradun have been added to the existing 33 test locations.

6. 30 more outlets to sell vouchers
